Thanks to los hermanos Salas and all who put this excellent session together. I was traveling and couldn’t attend, but am grateful for the video.
I remember being in Caracas in the early 1990s and feeling that it was a great city but one that felt tense and unstable, as if chaos could be around the corner. (One clue was when our hosts drove us back to our hotel at night, they didn’t stop at red lights; they slowed down and then ran through them. They explained that the risk of carjacking was too high. They have since emigrated.)
Rody’s double question marks seem to summarize the outlook going forward: there are glimmers of hope, but no guarantees that Venezuela will change course any time soon.
