Richard was born in Brooklyn and came to Yale from Brooklyn Polytechnic Preparatory Country Day School. He was a Psychology major and on the Dean's List. He also loved flying and earned a private pilot's license. In addition, he spent many years on the Yale Alumni Interview Committee in the Spring Valley, N.Y. area."
He was survived by his wife Joanne, and daughters, Andrea and Nicole. In Nicole's words, "He was a truly special man. He was, by definition, a gentleman."
