Phil Thomas was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and graduated from St. Paul's School, Concord, New Hampshire in 1958. Phil was a member of Berkeley College and graduated in June 1962 with a Philosophy major.
Keith Thompson was born in Woodbridge, Connecticut, a New Haven suburb, and graduated from St. Paul's School as a classmate of Phil Thomas. He also was a resident of Berkeley College and received his B.A. in June of 1962 in Psychology. Keith was on the Dean's List and was active in athletics for Berkeley College and was a member of the Board of WYBC and of the Berkeley Players.
Phil and Keith roomed together as undergraduates. Immediately following graduation in June 1962, they flew together to Europe to travel for the summer before each was to commence graduate studies in the Fall. The two were engaged in a tour of Germany on June 26, 1962, when they were both killed simultaneously in an automobile accident in Steinberg, 40 miles north of Hamburg.
Keith was 22 years of age and Phil was 21.
