Ronald T. Schuster

Died: August 11, 1963
Ron was the first of our classmates to die while in military service. He died accidentally on August 11, 1963, at the age of 24 while stationed at the Pensacola Naval Base, Pensacola, Florida where he was serving as an airman apprentice in the United States Naval Reserve in flight training.
Ron was born in New York City and prepared for Yale at St. Mark's School, Southborough, Massachusetts from which he graduated in 1957. He entered Yale with the Class of 1961 in September 1957 but graduated with our class in June 1962. Ron was a member of Davenport College.
Ron was a History of Arts and Letters Honors major. He had an active undergraduate career, including membership in Dwight Hall, Christian Fellowship, and Winant Volunteers. He was active with the Indian-American Friendship Colloquium (for which he was general coordinator) and served on the Davenport Council and on the Debate Club.
He never married.
