Larry Fisher was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania and prepared for Yale at New Castle High School. He was a member of Saybrook College where he played football. He was in Phi Gamma Delta, the Yale Political Union, the Sports Car Club, Freshman chorus and the Apollo Glee Club. Larry was an Economics major and on the Dean's List and a Ranking Scholar.

After graduation, he returned to New Castle and joined the family business, rising to the post of Vice President of Fisher Brothers Dry Goods Co. at the time of his death. He died June 26, 1970, at the age of 29 after a short illness. He was survived by his wife Ruth Ann and two children, Michael George born in 1967 and Diana born in 1969.

Larry was active in many community organizations in New Castle, including Kiwanis and the Visiting Nurse Association, both of which organizations he was serving as a director at the time of his death.
