Jim, the first member of our class to die, drowned accidentally in Lake Erie near Geneva Township, Ohio on the morning of August 1, 1959. He was 18 years old.

Jim was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania and prepared for Yale at Meadville Area High School in Pennsylvania. He attended Yale on a scholarship and was to be a member of Branford College. He was on the Dean's List Freshmen year. Jim had planned to study engineering and was active at St. Thomas More at Yale.
