John B. Davies, Jr.
Born: August 30, 1941
Died: April 22, 1990
Jack was born in New York City and prepared at Trinity School there. He was a member of Trumbull. An English Honors major, his active undergraduate career included memberships in the Young Democrats, service as editor of On the Fence With '62 and the Lit Board, culminating as Editor-In-Chief his senior year. He was remembered by his Lit colleagues as wry and genuinely witty.
His career was devoted to communications and corporate affairs. He spent many years with Chase Manhattan Bank and then when David Rockefeller retired from the bank, Jack followed him to work with the Rockefeller Family as an Associate.
He was survived by his widow Sandra, an investment advisor in New York, and daughter Katherine Elizabeth (Yale 1994, summa cum laude), a student at the Yale School of Architecture.
Classmate Mike DeHavenon described Jack as an "extraordinarily gifted writer." Sandra recalled him as a wonderful conversationalist with a brilliant mind.
