Lawrence Bay

Died: January 7, 1966
Larry Bay was born in New York City but moved during his youth with his family to the Los Angeles area. He prepared for Yale at the Harvard School in North Hollywood, California where he graduated in 1956 and entered Yale with the Class of 1960. He attended through December of 1957 and then took time off and returned in September 1959 as a Sophomore affiliated with our class. Larry did not return to Yale after June of 1960 but enrolled at the University of California where he later received his B.A. Degree, majoring in journalism.
Larry joined the staff of the San Francisco Chronicle and was promoted to become night news editor. He married his wife Kathryn Ann Fusco in 1964 and they had a daughter, Amanda, born in November 1965. Three months later on January 7, 1966 at the age of 26, Larry died in an automobile accident. His daughter Amanda graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
Larry was a member of Timothy Dwight College while at Yale. After his graduation he published articles in Frontier Magazine while working full time for the newspaper.
