It is refreshing to learn of the changes in Yale football since our times. The only essential differences between Yale and the Ivies and the “big boys” is the scholarship award criteria being based on need and is not an athletic scholarship. So, with potential football players meeting the admission’s standards of academic achievement., this gives the recruiters a fair shot of getting the players Yale needs for great teams.
And I am grateful for the great comments by Bill, Lou , Bob ad Ben on our football coffee hour.
If wrestling were re-instituted as a major Yale sport with the same rules as football, I believe Yale could produce consistently winning teams like Cornell and Princeton. The private academies consistently produce great wrestlers, like Andy Fitch from Hill who won the nationals in 1961.

I am a friend of your classmate Tom Ligon. I was with him when he died at Lenox Hill Hospital on June 26th of this year. I first met Tom when we both performed in Ayn Rand’s “the Night of January 16th at Paris Americn High School in Garsches, France in 1956. When he died, I demanded that every object in his apartment be moved around the corner ito my apartment. I refused to permit anyone to touch any piece of paper book picture or anything that pertained to Tom or to his beloved wife K.C.
I am respectfully looking at and dealing with all of Toms things.
BIG IMPORTANT TO ME QUESTION: What do I do with Tom’s Skull & Bones books papers masks etc?
Tom had kept all of his wife’s tapes and teaching materials, (which his pals said ‘nobody want TAPES!!! TOSS THEM’) and I fought
the Artistic Director,Jeanne Slater, had studied with K.C Ligon and would be happy to receive K.C.’s dialect tapes and writings.
I took the 4 boxes of K.C.s workd to Circle in the Square and now actors will have the opportunity of learning from K.C.
I ask you what can should I respectfully do with Tom’s Skull & Bones things.
Yours respectfully from the West Village Tom Ligon Museum on West 12th Street,

PS: One of Tom’s best friends here in the Neighborhood, is David Rothenberg, founder of the Fortune Society…an organization which helps formerly jailed men and women get back into society. David and I arranged for The Fortune Society to pick up the many many bags of Tom’s jeans and warm jackets to give to Fortune Society men.
Tom famously did not play football at Yale, but yours is the only entree I could find for me to contact his Yale friends.
Thanks.
“Tom and the Codgers” hung out in the Triangle Park 12th St-Greenwich Avenue 7th Avenue. If you ever want to sit and tell stories, let me know.
